Fourth Edition of Study Grants for the inhabitants of Alp, Das, Urús and Bagà
PRESENTATION OF GRANTS OF THE FUNDACIÓ PRIVADA BOSCH AYMERICH I OBRA SOCIAL DE “LA CAIXA”.
The 4th edition of the Bosch Aymerich i Obra Social “La Caixa” Foundation Grants, aimed at young students in the municipalities of Alp, Bagà, Das and Urús, the four municipalities through which the Masella ski area extends, took place on 15 February.
The aim of the grants is to contribute to the training of young people in these municipalities to guarantee a future of good qualified professionals in the companies of La Cerdanya and El Berguedà.
In this year's edition, a total of 39 applications were received, to which a total of 25 grants were awarded (5 more than in previous editions), with an average case score of 7.31.
The award ceremony was attended by the patrons of the Bosch i Aymerich Private Foundation, the executives of Masella and Caixa Bank, the mayors of these towns, directors of the Government of Catalonia led by the Minister for Territory and Sustainability, the Rt. Hon. Mr. Damià Calvet, who gave the closing speech.
Among the speeches at the event, the President of the Foundation, Mr. Ángel Sáez, remembered the figure of Josep Ma. Bosch Aymerich, as this year marks the 5 years of his death, and sketched out the figure of this man, who preached with example in the culture of effort. So, faithful to the principles of the promoter of the Foundation, in the speeches all the authorities stressed the importance of effort and tenacity.
The agreement was signed on 4 February 2020, with Messrs. Xavier Nolla (Vice-President and Director of Masella), Antoni Bosch (Secretary) and Mrs. Elena Cabarrocas (Observer and member of the Permanent Committee of the Foundation) attending for the La Caixa Banking Foundation and Messrs. Albert Requena (Director of the Berguedà-Pyrenees business area) and Gerard Xifré (Puigcerdà Office Manager).
