Third Edition of Study Scholarships for the inhabitants of Alp, Das, Urús and Bagà


A collaboration agreement was signed for the third year between the Bosch Aymerich Private Foundation and the ​​"la Caixa” Caixa d'Estalvis i Pensions de Barcelona Banking Foundation for scholarships for middle or higher grade and university degree studies for the inhabitants of the municipalities of Alp, Das and Urús and Bagà.

The agreement was signed on 26 November 2018, with Messrs. Xavier Nolla (Vice President and Director of Masella), Antoni Bosch (Secretary) and Mrs. Elena Cabarrocas (Observer and member of the Permanent Committee of the Foundation) and Maite Martí (Commercial Director of Masella) attending for the foundation, and Messrs. Jaume Masana (Territorial Director of Catalonia),  Jordi Porta (Zone Director) and Marc Porta (Branch Manager) for the Fundació Bancària La Caixa.

The purpose of the scholarships is to help promote the best education for the residents of the Cerdanya region as a means to enhance its future development through a better-prepared population. It is also one of the aims of the Bosch Aymerich Private Foundation to return part of the profits of its activity via aid to the towns where it is present with its companies’ business.

The award ceremony was attended by the patrons of the Bosch i Aymerich Private Foundation, the executives of Masella and Caixa Bank, the mayors of these towns, the President of the Regional Council of La Cerdanya and the Minister for Territory and Sustainability of the Government of Catalonia, Mr. Damià Calvet, who gave the closing speech. The speeches given at the event praised the Foundation’s study scholarship initiative, while the figure of Josep M Bosch Aymerich, co-founder of Masella who preached the culture of effort by example, was described. So, faithful to the principles of the promoter of the Foundation, in the speeches all the authorities stressed the importance of effort and tenacity among the young winners in their studies in order to guarantee good professionals who, in the future, will be the best asset for the Cerdanya and Berguedà regions.

In this edition, 42 applications were submitted for which 20 scholarships were awarded with an average case score of 7.58 and a total value of 40,000 euros in scholarships awarded.
