Collaboration agreement with the Association for Research, Training and Health Care in the Natural Environment, hereinafter the Mountain-medicine Association, is a non-profit organisation that mainly promotes mountain medicine training courses, offers health care in the natural environment and supports research projects.
For the past 5 years, the Mountain-medicine Association has been running multiple courses in the field of training for a broad group of people interested in and out of the region, to students who come from different fields and with different motivations, adapting the courses to their needs: basic courses in immediate health care, rescue courses for professionals related to health emergencies and mountain rescue, and continuity with the diploma in mountain medicine.
The health care offer is mainly aimed at covering races and sports events in the natural environment, from cardio-protection at mountain half marathons to emergency health care in long trails.
Another goal of Mountain-Medicine is to train health professionals to attend to an emergency in the mountains and in general in the natural environment, where the emergency services take longer to arrive than in urban areas.
The Bosch Aymerich Foundation, knowing the great effort involved in having good health care and mountain rescue professionals, has signed a collaboration agreement with the Mountain-Medicine Association and contributes to the awarding of a three-year grant for the projection of courses and the publication of mountain health care books, written by Dr. Enric Subirats.
The agreement was signed on 29 May 2020 with Dr. Enric Subirats on behalf of the Association for Research, Training and Health Care in the Natural Environment (Mountain Medicine) and Mr. Xavier Nolla, patron of the Bosch Aymerich Foundation.
